ARRIVE AHMEDABAD - ON TO SASAN GIR (333 KMS / APPROX. 3 1/2 HOUR DRIVE) Welcome to your 'Wildlife of Gujarat with Beaches' tour! Arrive at the airport / railway station in Ahmedabad. You will be met and transferred to your hotel in Sasan Gir - the home of the Asiatic Lion. The rest of the day is at leisure. Overnight in Sasan Gir (L, D)
Today, visit Gir National Park, sprawling over 1412 sq. km. Established in 1965, it's located about 65 km southeast of Junagadh city, Gujarat. The sanctuary was established to halt the alarming rate of lion hunting when their population dropped to as low as 15. Explore Gir Interpretation Zone at Devaliya, Crocodile Breeding Farm, and Gir Information Centre. The rest of the day is at leisure. Overnight in Sasan Gir (B, L, D)
ON TO DIU - EXCURSION TO SOMNATH (81 KM / APPROX. 3 1/2 HOUR DRIVE) Proceed to the beach town - Diu. Check-in to your hotel upon arrival. Later, visit Somnath Jyotirling Temple, one of the 12 Jyotirlingas of Lord Shiva, with a history dating back to ancient texts like Skandpuran and Shivpuran. The rest of the evening is at leisure. IN DIU Morning at leisure for water sports at Nagoa Beach (On direct payment basis). Later, visit St. Paul's Church and Diu Museum, showcasing artifacts and Portuguese era history. Explore Diu Fort, creatively lit for breathtaking views at night. Rest of the day is at leisure. Overnight in Diu (B)
DEPART DIU (18 KMS / APPROX. 45 MINUTES DRIVE) Bid farewell to the 'Wildlife of Gujarat with Beaches' tour with a transfer to Diu airport / Delvada railway station for onward journey.
